“Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.”
― Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection
I caught myself hesitating, struggling to stand and own my truth today. I was reminded that the choice to live and speak our truth is more than a full time job. Every moment is a choice, it is a constant push and pull, a constant of opposing actions. The dance between fear and courage, light and dark, fact and fiction.
When we step into someone else’s truth we are only a moment away from stepping back into ours. Take the pause, the hesitation, the space between the inhalation and exhalation to choose honesty, to choose courage, to let our true selves shine.
We are always told to forgive and forget. We can forgive without forgetting. It is difficult to separate the act and the person. Once this is done you are on the path of releasing those old stories of what no longer serves and moving into the new stronger and more courageous. Without mud there is no Lotus.
